Genealogy
I am working on my family genealogy and hope to publish some of the research here as it is more fully developed. There is a preliminary draft that you can review if you click the link at the bottom of this page.
The genealogy includes a number of lines that are from the hills of Southwest Virginia and Northeast Tennessee. Most families came through Scott County Virginia. Some main surnames include:
Cox, Carter, Wolfe, Culbertson, Lawson, McConnell, Sluss, and Stallard.
Please note that this is a work in progress. I have shown sources for each citation, but there are conflicts among sources, including inconsistent conclusions among what I have presented. I urge you to confirm any data that you use from this site for yourself. If you can help provide guidance to resolve errors in my data or can add to the strength of an argument, please le t me know.
